Samsung Electronics has announced the Galaxy Z Fold7, its most advanced foldable smartphone to date, highlighting a blend of precision engineering, lightweight design, and AI-powered functionality. Launched on July 9, 2025, the device is positioned to deliver premium performance and improved productivity through a larger, immersive display and upgraded software features. Weighing 215 grams and measuring 8.9 mm when folded, the Galaxy Z Fold7 is the thinnest and lightest device in the Galaxy Z Fold series.

Samsung unveils Galaxy Z Fold7 with AI and larger display

It features a 6.5-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X cover screen with a 21:9 aspect ratio. When unfolded, the device reveals an 8-inch main display, which is 11 percent larger than the previous model. This screen supports multitasking and content creation with up to 2,600 nits of brightness. Durability enhancements include a redesigned hinge structure called the Armor FlexHinge, which incorporates a multi-rail system to minimize creasing. The cover screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2.

The frame and hinge housing use reinforced Armor Aluminum, while the main display includes a titanium plate and 50 percent thicker ultra-thin glass for added strength. The device is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy processor, offering performance improvements over the previous generation. Neural Processing Unit speed is increased by 41 percent, while CPU and GPU speeds are boosted by 38 percent and 26 percent, respectively.

    200MP wide-angle camera debuts on a foldable

These upgrades support on-device AI tasks such as real-time translation and AI-assisted image editing. Camera technology includes a 200MP wide-angle lens, the first of its kind in the Galaxy Z series. A 10MP camera on the main display enables wide-angle selfies and group shots. AI enhancements optimize lighting, detail, and realism. Features like Night Video and 10-bit HDR ensure clarity and color depth in various lighting conditions.

Creative tools leverage the large display and include AI-powered editing features such as Generative Edit, Photo Assist, and Audio Eraser. Users can remove objects, adjust perspectives, and compare edits in real time. The upgraded Audio Eraser now automatically detects and removes ambient noise like wind or traffic from video clips. The Galaxy Z Fold7 introduces One UI 8, which integrates multimodal AI across its interface. Features such as Gemini Live provide contextual support through voice and text. Circle to Search enables instant lookups.

Split views and drag-and-drop AI tools enhance productivity, while new writing and drawing assistants simplify creative workflows. Security features have been expanded with the introduction of Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection (KEEP), which isolates sensitive app data. Samsung is also incorporating post-quantum cryptography into Secure Wi-Fi to improve protection across networks. Galaxy Z Fold7 will be available for pre-order starting July 9, with general sales beginning July 25. It comes in Blue Shadow, Silver Shadow, Jetblack, and Mint, with Mint offered exclusively online. – By MENA Newswire News Desk.
